In October 2011 The Manna House Charity opened the Tamworth Foodbank, which seeks to help individuals and families in financial crisis through the provision of up to 72 hours emergency food supplies. At the Foodbank Distribution Centre at the Manna House in Glascote, families can also be signposted to other professional bodies and agencies to assist them further with their longer term needs. The Elim Church has served the town of Tamworth for just over 100 years with a passion that is motivated by the faith of its members. We are a thriving church community comprising both young and old and drawn from all walks of life.
                                                                                                  Our mission is:

“To share the love of Christ with our community in word and deed”

During the last 17 years or so, our church has gone through an exciting transformation and has reached out beyond its walls and has touched the lives of hundreds of people in our community. During this time the church has completed two large-scale building projects and has set up its own charitable company (The Manna House) which employs more than 20 people.

Back then, the church doors were closed most of the week, opening only for a Sunday morning and a children’s club on a weekday evening with facilities that were very small, inadequate for our needs and uninviting.

Our church leadership believed that it was time to ‘break out’ and redouble our efforts to truly serve Jesus through serving our community, in actions as well as in words – to become a church 7 days of the week and not just a Sunday congregation of hymn singers and sermon tasters.

It was scary! It needed leaders and congregation alike to move out of their ‘comfort zones’ and trust in God in ways that challenged their faith to the limits.

Today, it would probably be an understatement to say that we have no regrets. We are church – 7 days each week having ministries and services today, that would have been beyond our dreams back then.

We trust that you will enjoy getting to know more about us and find the web site and the TV channels  both inspiring and informative. We look forward to welcoming you in person either on a Sunday morning or at the Manna House in Glascote.
