Small Groups
All members of our church are encouraged to belong to a midweek small group.
We have a variety of mid week groups, typically of between 6 and 12 people and involve prayer, worship, bible study, mutual support and a closer fellowship than can be accomplished in the larger Sunday gathering.
Although the groups share common purpose and values, the groups are as diverse as their respective memberships, and reflect the life stage and interests of their participants. This diversity is encouraged through the wide choice of approaches that are/can be taken to the weekly meetings.
These can include study sessions based on the previous Sunday’s teaching; following a small group bible study course (typically over 6-8 weeks); attending the church’s teaching course(s) that will run ad hoc during the year; taking responsibility for a social action programme or supporting one of the church’s many community ministry projects etc.
By means of participation in these and other programmes each group member is able to grow spiritually and in fellowship with each other, and to put into practice the New Testament commands given by Christ (Matt. 22:37-39) to every one of his followers, namely to “Love the Lord your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind……and (to) love your neighbour as yourself”
