Counselling

Many people are hurt in life, often through no fault of their own. They have no one to turn to and their loneliness simply compounds their sense of hurt and distress. Jesus spent much of his public ministry speaking directly to such people and it is his example that we are seeking to follow at the Manna House.

The confidential and free counselling service was established in 1998. It is open to anyone, from any walk of life, who may need help and support. This could range from an immediate crisis, to helping with an unresolved problem from years ago.

We have an expanding team of 21 fully trained counsellors who are available six days a week. Our counsellors can cover a variety of issues, including, relationship and marriage problems, bereavement, sexuality issues, depression, low self esteem, anger management, abuse, family issues etc.

Our aim is not to tell people what to do, but to work through their issues to enable them to see a way forward for themselves. We hope that they will come through counselling with more confidence enabling them to cope with any future trials in life. In the last eleven years we have had the privilege to help about 2000 people, young and old, to move on with their lives.

As Christians, all of the counsellors remain true to Christian values and recognise that it is only with God's help that people are healed. The Counselling Service is contracted by a number of General Practitioners in Tamworth.
