Zambia Isubilo
Isubilo, which in the Bemba language of Zambia means ‘hope,’ aims to make a difference in the city of Ndola by showing God’s love through practically serving those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. Their objectives are to provide education, medication and nutrition and to mobilise Zambian churches to become involved and take more responsibility in their communities.
Aspects of their day to day work include caring for Orphaned and Vulnerable Children, paediatric care for new mothers and their babies (especially underweight babies) and a Shelter House with house mother to care for a small number of orphaned children.
Land, divided into small gardens, is being developed so that families can be helped to provide for their own food needs. Some school children get extra tuition to help them overcome deficiencies in their education because of their illnesses. For more information www.isubilo.org
